Leaving Germany? Things you need to do before you are leaving Germany
Before you leave Germany,
1) Officially deregister at the local office registration office (Einwohnermeldeamt/Bürgerbüro): Keep a copy of the deregistration document and take a picture/scthe document, and store it where you can find it again.
2) Keep some proof of your income you received while working in Germany. That can be the monthly payslip or also the “Lohnsteuerbescheinigung” (annual summary of your income). It might play a role, either for the pension or also tax matters.
