Can I get the German Pension contributions back when I leave Germany?
If you have worked in Germany, you may have paid German Pension Insurance. Contributions in Germany are currently 9.30% of your salary. How do you get this money back? You can apply to get your pension payments refunded. Expats get an average pension refund of 9.328€.
According to the German Social Code (§210 SGB IV) those contributions are refundable after leaving Germany.
